Environmental Services Intern (SUMMER) / Crothall Healthcare, St. Vincent's Hospital

About the role#

This summer internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare support services at St. Vincent's Hospital. Interns work closely with the Environmental Services leadership team to develop professional skills, manage frontline team members, and contribute to patient experience and facility operations. This role is designed to build a foundation for a career in business operations.

What you'll do#

• Execute operational standards and take a proactive approach to identify and correct facility quality assurance concerns.
• Participate in department safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
• Respond to requests and concerns with urgency, providing necessary corrective actions.
• Assist with staff orientation, training, and motivation to ensure team performance.
• Handle special projects and assignments as directed by management.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a college or university junior or senior.
• Academic background in Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, or Health Administration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities in a changing environment.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, ranging from hourly staff to the Director level.
