Veterinary Student Externship

About the role#

Crossroads Animal Hospital offers a hands-on clinical externship for veterinary students. This role provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world hospital setting, focusing on compassionate medicine and collaborative case management. Students will work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff to build clinical skills and confidence.

What you'll do#

• Actively participate in surgical cases, dental procedures, and emergency care.
• Assist with sick patient workups and routine medical appointments.
• Discuss cases with your supervising veterinarian to review exam findings and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with the medical team to manage patient care and further your professional development.

What you'll need#

• Must be a current student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Priority is given to students in their clinical years (3rd or 4th year) on official externship blocks for school credit.
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance.
