    About the role#

    COPAL is hiring an Administrative Assistant Intern to support the Worker Center team. This role focuses on building economic power for the Minnesota Latinx community by assisting members seeking services, managing data collection, and ensuring clear communication. This is a paid, part-time position scheduled for 30 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday 8 hours, Thursday 6 hours) with an expected duration of 6 months.

    What you'll do#

    • Support front desk and office operations to ensure they run smoothly.
    • Manage administrative logistics, including scheduling needs, room coordination, filing, scanning, correspondence, and supply maintenance.
    • Organize and maintain front desk systems and procedures to ensure consistency and ease of use.
    • Ensure intake, sign-in, and service data are collected accurately and consistently to help identify trends and service opportunities.
    • Welcome community members and respond to calls, emails, and walk-ins while prioritizing language access and cultural competency.
    • Handle confidential information with discretion and participate in fundraising activities, such as site visits and phone banking, as appropriate.

    What you'll need#

    • Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
    • A positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and willingness to learn.
    • Experience initiating conversations with community members about their stories, hopes, and challenges.
    • Preferred majors include Communications, Sociology, Public Health, Psychology, or Human Resources.
