Cooper Machinery Services is seeking an HR Intern to join the team in Houston. This is a paid, part-time, on-site internship offered on a rolling basis. The role provides exposure to recruitment, employee engagement, and administrative compliance within the oil and gas industry.
What you'll do#
- Post job openings on internal and external boards and assist with resume screening and interview scheduling.
- Support the onboarding process by preparing offer letters, welcome packets, and orientation materials.
- Draft internal communications, including newsletters, announcements, and SharePoint updates.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, such as appreciation events and wellness programs.
- Maintain HR records, support compliance audits, and perform data entry in HRIS systems.
- Research HR best practices and compile metrics to provide recommendations for process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Detail-oriented approach to tasks and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
