Robotics Intern, Deployment

About the role#

The Robotics Intern, Deployment will work with the Deployment team to support pilot programs and active customer sites. This role provides hands-on exposure to robot commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support workflows, with significant time spent both at the Austin headquarters and at customer locations.

What you'll do#

• Assist Deployment Engineers in standing up new pilot programs and supporting ongoing customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and document electro-mechanical issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Document and relay customer feedback, including product issues and improvement requests, to the Development teams.
• Test new software and hardware at the Austin headquarters.
• Maintain and improve operation documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and command line tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document observations clearly.
• Detail-oriented approach and comfort with hands-on tasks.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Robot Operating System (ROS), experience with Python or C++, knowledge of Jira, and Spanish bilingual skills.

Location & details#

• Location: Austin, Texas (On-site).
• Travel: Up to 50% travel to customer sites is required.
• Duration: Minimum of 3 months; availability for two continuous terms is preferred.
• Employment: Full-time paid internship.
