About the role#
The Technology Services Intern supports various information services teams through hands-on technical assignments and operational support. This role provides exposure to desktop services, systems engineering, network engineering, telecommunications, and data engineering. Interns work under the direct supervision of IS Technology Leadership to gain practical experience in healthcare information technology operations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, image, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related devices.
- Assist with maintaining inventory and organization of deployment hardware, equipment, and stock.
- Help troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues.
- Support network, telecommunications, and telehealth or audio-visual deployments as assigned.
- Provide timely follow-up and customer service to ensure a positive support experience.
- Assist with departmental relocations, equipment setup, and technology installations.
- Support software inventory and migration activities during device replacements.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a college, technical school, or high school IT or trade school program.
- Pursuing a degree, certification, or coursework related to Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or Information Technology.
- Basic experience working with computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a healthcare environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow established protocols.
