I & E Technician Internship

About the role#

The I & E Technician Internship offers hands-on experience in instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance. You will work alongside the electrical and maintenance departments to diagnose control circuitry and perform system checks in an industrial environment. Health and safety are the primary focus of this role, and you will be expected to adhere to all safe work practices at all times.

What you'll do#

• Prioritize health and safety by following all established policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot instrument and control malfunctions, including PLC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and calibrations.
• Install new system controls, including power wiring, cabling, and motor control centers.
• Service and replace motors and lighting components.
• Maintain accurate records and logs for all maintenance activities.
• Perform general electrical maintenance and other assigned duties.

What you'll need#

• Preference for 2+ years of combined plant experience and related education.
• Preference for instrument or electrical training, degree, or certification.
• Proficiency in reading electronic schematics and process and instrumentation diagrams (PID).
• Experience with three-phase 480v systems.
• Ability to pass a required paper test.
• Experience with VFD troubleshooting and installation is considered a plus.
