The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Quality team at CLARK Material Handling Company to ensure efficient operations. This role focuses on improving the performance of forklifts, parts, and components through analytical tasks and hands-on projects. Interns will work under the direction of senior team members to gain practical experience in the machinery manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Support the team's progressive Quality development plan and objectives.
- Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing departments.
- Participate in quality audits and drive process improvements.
- Assist in writing basic procedures, documenting processes, and managing SOP document control.
- Analyze databases and trends to create reports and presentations.
- Perform various analytical functions and clerical tasks as assigned.
- Utilize hand and air tools to assemble components, requiring repetitive wrist and arm motion.
- Lift up to 50 lbs of assembly components and maneuver heavier items using lifting devices.
- Reach into and under truck areas to adjust and assemble bolts and components.
- Apply up to 500 lbs of torque using manual and electric torque wrenches.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field (Sophomore classification or above preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Access.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with control devices and measuring techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, installation or process sheets, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely.
