About the role#
The Information Security Intern will support the Information Security department at CITGO Petroleum Corporation headquarters. This role focuses on administrative responsibilities to protect company information and requires a self-starter who can manage multiple tasks while working in a team setting.
What you'll do#
- Monitor AIX, Windows, Oracle, and SAP logs on a daily basis.
- Perform quarterly monitoring of network servers and devices related to information security.
- Support Identity and Access Management by handling user security assignments, provisioning, and deprovisioning accounts.
- Ensure compliance with access policies and procedures.
- Evaluate, recommend, develop, and maintain information security policies and procedures.
- Manage customer requests via a ticket system and assist with company-wide information security awareness initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or IT-related degree program with sophomore classification or higher.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Solid understanding of information security principles and current threats.
- Knowledge of network security principles and common vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, policies, and ethics related to cybersecurity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
