2026 Civil Engineering Internship

About the role#

Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term. This internship provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional civil engineering setting while gaining skills through continuous on-the-job training. Interns work alongside experienced engineers and participate in a structured mentoring program.

What you'll do#

• Apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
• Participate in a one-on-one mentoring program with experienced engineers to receive guidance and feedback.
• Receive hands-on training in industry-standard tools, including MicroStation and other design software.
• Engage in drafting, modeling, and analyzing engineering plans.
• Conduct regular visits to active project sites, such as stormwater systems, roadways, and transportation infrastructure, to observe the implementation of engineering plans.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program related to Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or Urban Planning.
• Ability to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting.
• Willingness to participate in a mentoring program and collaborate within a team-oriented culture.
• Eagerness to learn industry-standard software and design tools.
• Interest in conducting site visits to observe active civil engineering projects.
• Commitment to professional growth.
