About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2026 located in Omaha, Nebraska. You will work under the direct supervision of staff pharmacists and the Pharmacy Administrative Team to support daily pharmacy operations. The role requires a commitment of one day per week, plus every other weekend and holiday rotation.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, label, and deliver medications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Aseptically prepare sterile products, including TPN solutions and large volume parenterals, following national standards.
- Utilize automated dispensing machines for loading, refills, inventory management, and basic maintenance.
- Maintain established stock levels of medications in the pharmacy and patient care areas.
- Manage technology for pharmaceutical care, including BAXA compounder setup, Pyxis functions, medication labeling systems, and electronic drug information resources.
- Process patient charges and credits and update records for returned medications.
- Provide customer service by answering phones, directing calls, and responding to inquiries.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with good academic standing.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- RPI (Registered Pharmacy Intern) status required within 180 days.
- PHAR-C (Certified Pharmacy Tech) certification required upon hire if not yet registered as a Pharmacy Intern.
- Pharmacy Technicians must obtain CPhT certification from a Nebraska approved program within one year of registration.
- Strong mathematical skills for algebraic conversions and basic arithmetic.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
