Summer School Student Worker - World Language Camp

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time summer position for the World Language Camp at Alberta Smith Elementary School. You will provide support services to camp teachers and administrators by performing routine instructional and clerical tasks. This role requires working directly with students, staff, and parents in a professional school environment.

What you'll do#

• Assist teachers with camp duties, including providing small group instruction and skills practice.
• Support students one-on-one, in small groups, or in a whole-class setting.
• Prepare and reproduce classroom materials, including assisting with bulletin boards and displays.
• Supervise students during lunch and assist them on and off the school bus.
• Provide clerical support such as typing, filing, maintaining records, managing attendance, and ordering supplies.

What you'll need#

• Knowledge of childhood growth and development, behavior management, and basic clerical procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise children and follow oral or written instructions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Successful completion of required background investigations, including FBI, State Police, and Child Protective Services checks, as well as a tuberculosis screening.
• Preferred: First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
