The Coordinator, Student Affairs Operations & Communications serves as a central hub for the Division of Student Affairs. This role balances hands-on operational tasks with communications work, requiring the ability to manage systems, supervise student staff, and produce engaging content in a campus setting.
What you'll do#
- Administer the campus ID card system, including creating and issuing cards for students, employees, and vendors.
- Manage the HUB desk in the IDX Student Life Center and Fitness Center, serving as a primary point of contact for students, families, and partners.
- Hire, train, and supervise student employees, providing mentorship and fostering skill-building.
- Produce and coordinate divisional communications, including newsletters and digital signage, using platforms such as MyEmma.
- Process invoices, support budget tracking, and manage supply orders for the division.
- Assist with the planning and execution of campus events, including orientation and divisional meetings.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Higher Education, or a related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in higher education, administrative, operations, or communications settings required; 2+ years preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in digital tools and systems, with preference for experience in ID card platforms, email marketing systems like MyEmma, and data management tools.
- Experience supervising student employees or volunteers is considered a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Burlington, Vermont.
- The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend availability required for student staff shifts and campus events.
- Relevant majors include Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, Marketing, Political Science, Sociology, and Criminal Justice.
