As an Accounting and Finance Intern at Centrus Energy, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the financial operations of a nuclear electric power generation company. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will learn how financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis guide strategic decisions and maintain financial performance. This role provides practical experience in how financial data is gathered, analyzed, and communicated.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing financial reports and analyzing budget and expense data.
- Support general accounting activities, including reconciling accounts and reviewing transactions.
- Support month-end close processes and assist with internal reporting documentation.
- Collaborate with team members across finance, accounting, and other departments to understand how financial information supports operational decisions.
- Present key contributions, insights, and lessons learned to the team at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or graduate program in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
- Completion of at least two years of college-level coursework in accounting, finance, or a related program.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for data analysis and presentations.
- Interest in financial reporting, corporate finance, or business analysis.

- Location: Bethesda, Maryland.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position ($22/hr - $25/hr).
- Requirements: This position requires a pre-employment background check, drug test, and vetting to meet federal requirements for access to export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information.
