About the role#
The Emerging Voices in AI and Society Fellowship is a six-month program designed to elevate critical perspectives on the societal impacts of artificial intelligence. CHT is seeking three fellows to join this inaugural cohort, focusing on one of five areas: AI and Cognition, AI and Relationships, AI and Surveillance, AI and Spirituality, or an insider's perspective on the technology industry. This fellowship is a paid, remote opportunity for mid-career experts to contribute to public discourse and advance solutions for the challenges posed by consequential technologies.
What you'll do#
Fellows are expected to produce high-impact work that contributes to CHT’s mission. Key responsibilities include:
- Complete one flagship output, such as a research piece, long-form essay, or report.
- Write 1–3 op-eds for target outlets or publication platforms.
- Participate in one podcast episode on CHT platforms.
- Attend three mandatory cohort meetings.
- Participate in mandatory bi-weekly check-ins with the Senior Director of Strategy & Impact.
What you'll need#
We are looking for mid-career experts from interdisciplinary backgrounds who can bridge the gap between complex technical concepts and public understanding. Ideal candidates possess:
- Experience in media, including published op-eds, essays, or peer-reviewed work.
- A background in fields such as Philosophy, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Journalism, Civil Engineering, or Data Science.
- Comfort operating in an interdisciplinary setting at the intersection of technology, psychology, and social structures.
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- A delivery-oriented mindset with experience reliably shipping concrete research deliverables.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026 – March 18, 2027).
- Location: Remote (United States).
- Commitment: Part-time (15 hours per week).
- Compensation: $30,000 fixed stipend, paid based on the completion of three milestones.
