Intern - Lending

About the role#

The Lending Intern program at Centennial Bank provides students with hands-on experience in bank lending. You will work directly with loan officers to gain exposure to credit analysis, appraisal review, loan operations, and collections while learning the regulatory and operational standards of the banking industry.

What you'll do#

• Assist assigned Loan Officers with daily tasks and management reporting.
• Interview loan applicants and collect necessary financial data.
• Analyze financial information to determine creditworthiness.
• Prepare loan offering memos, modifications, and supporting documentation.
• Attend lending and compliance training sessions and Officer Loan Committee meetings.
• Conduct collateral inspections and document file notes.
• Support the resolution of past-due accounts and clear credit or collateral exceptions.
• Accompany experienced loan officers on calls with potential and existing customers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a junior at an accredited four-year university.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Understanding of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and bank policies.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects within limited time frames.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
