Student Intern, Strategic Sourcing / Value Creation (SCM)

About the role#

The Strategic Sourcing / Value Creation intern will work alongside the supply chain and commodity management team. This role involves performing tasks guided by established routines and procedures under close supervision, with the opportunity to take on more complex duties as proficiency is achieved. This position is a 12-month internship.

What you'll do#

• Read and analyze mechanical drawings.
• Source parts and communicate directly with suppliers.
• Review supply and demand data using price-cost analysis for value creation projects.
• Perform Costed Bill of Materials analysis and draft value-add proposals.
• Maintain internal and customer project reporting trackers.
• Drive project execution and closure in coordination with global site program managers.
• Generate cost estimates for new bids and manage cost savings change management.
• Identify and implement ideas to automate or streamline manual processes.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a University or College internship program, having completed the 3rd year of studies.
• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Interest in the manufacturing, procurement, and electronics industries.

• Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Remote).
• Term: Summer 2026 start.
• Status: Paid, full-time internship.
• Note: This position involves work subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program; employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a security assessment.
