The Student Coordinator supports the Philadelphia Virtual Academy (PVA) by assisting with student onboarding, re-engagement efforts, and daily operations. This role facilitates in-person student events, monitors the Drop-In Center, and provides administrative support to ensure program efficiency. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2026, operating on-site at the Ferguson School Building.
What you'll do#
- Assist PVA administrators, teachers, and staff with student support initiatives and program operations.
- Conduct weekly orientations for newly enrolled students and families.
- Identify disengaged students and assist with outreach and re-engagement meetings.
- Monitor and support operations within the PVA Drop-In Center.
- Maintain accurate records related to orientations, student engagement, attendance, and re-engagement efforts.
- Assemble, configure, and distribute student technology and equipment.
- Perform data entry, filing, and general clerical duties to support office operations.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Experience performing clerical, administrative, or customer service duties is preferred.
- Proficiency with web-based programs and apps.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms.
- Relevant majors include Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, Sociology, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Ferguson School Building).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, following the PVA academic calendar.
- Pay Rate: $19.40 per hour.
- Benefits: Paid credentials and TB screening are provided. Employees scheduled for 30+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, while those scheduled for 20+ hours are eligible for dental, vision, and supplemental benefits.
