Cayenta is seeking a Co-Op Student Developer to join the Research & Development team for an 8-month term. You will work on the Product Modernization project, gaining hands-on experience with technologies such as Go, React, and GraphQL, while expanding your database and SQL skills. You will be mentored by a team of experts while solving challenges related to modernizing enterprise software systems.
What you'll do#
- Contribute software code to the Product Modernization project.
- Test developed features and code to ensure quality.
- Collaborate with members of the development organization.
- Report progress and blockers regularly.
- Participate in team initiatives, including a rotating role of coordinating product support.
- Engage in an ongoing process of receiving and providing feedback.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th-year student in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Completion of second-year coursework.
- Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and programming languages.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A rational and critical approach to problem-solving.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position, though candidates must be able to travel to Burnaby, British Columbia, as required.
- This is a paid, part-time co-op opportunity.
- The term is based on a rolling schedule.
