About the role#
The Arlington Catholic Herald is the official newspaper of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington. This paid internship provides an opportunity to support the editorial staff in providing news from a Catholic perspective. The role involves a 35-hour work week and requires the intern to be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic.
What you'll do#
- Propose, write, and edit content for CatholicHerald.com and the print edition.
- Create and edit content for social media channels.
- Conduct research and edit articles.
- Assist with the layout and production process for the print edition.
- Cover diocesan events as needed.
- Provide occasional support to the advertising and circulation departments.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate in journalism or communications.
- Strong writing, editing, and digital media skills.
- Extraordinary attention to detail.
- Previous experience with a media publication is preferred.
- Must be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic.

- Location: Arlington, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026, through December 2026).
- Compensation: $17.00 per hour.
