Dean of Student Affairs

About the role#

The Dean of Student Affairs develops and delivers essential services for students on campus. Reporting to the Campus Director, this role focuses on student retention, persistence, and engagement. You will serve as a primary liaison between students, faculty, and staff, ensuring consistent communication and support throughout the student lifecycle.

What you'll do#

• Create data-informed action plans to meet institutional retention and graduation targets.
• Analyze persistence data to identify at-risk student populations and implement targeted interventions.
• Manage academic advising functions, including GPA monitoring, attendance, and schedule management.
• Oversee disability accommodation requests and serve as the primary point of contact.
• Lead student engagement initiatives, including Student Council, mentorship programs, and student clubs.
• Coordinate student workshops, orientations, and professional development events.
• Supervise Federal Work Study students, including hiring, training, and performance management.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
• Minimum of three years of experience in an educational setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Strong ability to solve practical problems and interpret complex instructions.
• Capability to read, comprehend, and draft professional correspondence.
• Background in fields such as Business Administration, Psychology, Political Science, Communications, Human Resources, Sociology, Nursing, or Public Health.
