The Director of Student and Resident Affairs provides leadership and operational direction for the Student & Resident Affairs office at the Cape Breton Medical Campus. This full-time leadership position focuses on the administration of learner support initiatives, ensuring a continuum of support for students and residents throughout their academic and professional training.
What you'll do#
- Provide leadership and support to students and residents.
- Oversee the Student & Resident Affairs office, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of programming.
- Assess learner needs and facilitate access to appropriate resources.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise the Student & Resident Affairs team.
- Collaborate with the Faculty of Medicine, health authorities, and other key partners to enhance learner support services.
- Act on behalf of the Assistant Dean when required and ensure effective office operations.
What you'll need#
- Master’s degree in adult education, psychology, counselling, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in a related field, such as learner affairs, program design, or counselling.
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership and budgetary management.
- Knowledge of medical education programs and the academic health care environment.
- Project management training and experience are preferred.
- Proficiency with online learning and communication platforms.
