About the role#
The Carbon Reporting Co-op supports the Sustainability Team by contributing to greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting, emissions analytics, and sustainability data management across global operations. This 8-month position provides hands-on experience in carbon accounting, data analysis, and climate strategy while supporting environmental commitments and long-term sustainability goals. You will work from the Corporate Head Office in Vancouver.
What you'll do#
- Collect, organize, and validate energy consumption, emission factors, and greenhouse gas emissions data.
- Support the development and maintenance of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas inventories.
- Assist with provincial and federal compliance reporting requirements and sustainability disclosures.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and trend analyses to support sustainability reporting and decision-making.
- Document GHG accounting processes, data sources, and reporting methodologies to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Support third-party assurance and audit activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve data collection and reporting through Microsoft Copilot and other digital tools.
- Collaborate with the Sustainability Team on projects supporting the corporate Sustainability Strategy.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Sustainability, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience within the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in sustainability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset.
- Understanding of greenhouse gas emissions reporting and the GHG Protocol is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is considered an asset.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows is considered an asset.
