About the role#
Canadore College is seeking a part-time Technologist to support the Acting for Stage and Screen program. This role runs from September 8 to December 18, 2026, for up to 24 hours per week at the College Drive campus in North Bay.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate the filming, replay, and editing of actor reels.
- Demonstrate fight techniques and create visual aids and guides for various performance skills.
- Provide technical operation for lights and sound in room G107.
- Assist with all aspects of Theatre Canadore productions, including set creation, rehearsals, execution, and tear down.
What you'll need#
- A two-year diploma with a focus on Acting for Stage and Screen.
- Familiarity with filming and editing digital reels and scene work.
- Experience operating theatrical lighting and sound equipment.
- Training in basic hand-to-hand stage combat.
- Strong knowledge of networks, computers, broadcast, and digital film technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- A background as a professional film or theatre actor is considered an asset.

- Compensation: $19.22 per hour plus 6% vacation pay.
