About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 term in Melville, New York. This role provides an opportunity to gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering and site design firm. Interns will participate in the complete land development process, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects while working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the various stages of the land development and site design process.
- Enhance technical skills through hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to support the creation of concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and soil erosion plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate and drive project progress.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and participate in team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, or a related engineering field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided for those not yet proficient.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn within a team-oriented environment.
