About the role#
As a Database Activity Monitoring (DBAM) Governance Analyst intern, you will join our Information Security team for an 8-month term. This role focuses on the day-to-day operations and governance of mission-critical security systems. You will work independently to solve problems, analyze risk trends, and contribute to the protection of bank assets while gaining hands-on experience in a corporate financial environment.
What you'll do#
- Monitor, support, and handle day-to-day activities for Information Security systems.
- Build and implement database activity monitoring rules.
- Analyze data to identify risk trends and create activity reports for security tools.
- Research and test data protection tooling.
- Provide responsive customer service and technical expertise in support of cyber security.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver business objectives.
- Coordinate incident management activities, including deploying changes to production environments.
- Assist with the documentation of procedures and the preparation of end-user materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree program, preferably in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Basic understanding of databases and client-server architecture.
- Experience in information security or with systems and computer operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and communicate with technical and business partners.
- Interest in database security, cloud platforms, and data regulations.
