2026 Machine Learning Intern, Autonomy

About the role#

Blue River Technology is seeking a Machine Learning Intern to join our research and engineering team. This role focuses on improving and supporting robotic and vision-based systems for the agriculture industry. You will work on pushing the boundaries of our current technology through experimentation and algorithm development.

What you'll do#

• Research and develop image-processing and computer-vision algorithms for 2D and 3D scene segmentation.
• Develop experiments and methods to detect and characterize model performance issues in long-tail conditions.
• Explore deep learning models and frameworks to advance the performance of current systems.
• Investigate new methods within the active learning space.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in or completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with machine learning systems, specifically in computer vision and deep learning.
• Proficiency in Python and deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• A positive attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
