Scientific Research Intern

About the role#

The Scientific Research Intern will join the Lab Operations team to support bioanalytical services. This role involves performing routine laboratory tasks under frequent supervision, requiring a high level of attention to detail and adherence to strict methodologies. The position is part-time, with an expected commitment of 20-24 hours per week.

What you'll do#

• Perform portions of assays under supervision and follow established directives.
• Prepare buffers and manage pipetting tasks.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Participate in the management of bioanalytical samples, including shipping and disposition.
• Assist with data review and the preparation of presentations.
• Organize samples for testing and maintain accurate records of assay details and reagents.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a rising junior or senior in a biology, chemistry, or related degree program, or enrollment in a scientific graduate program.
• Completion of at least two college-level laboratory courses.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, take direction, and work effectively within a team environment.
