As a Corporate Accounting Co-op Student, you will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting and period-end activities. Working alongside a team of designated accountants, you will contribute to financial analysis and decision support for the business. This 8-month position offers mentorship and exposure to the practical application of accounting principles within the real estate industry.
What you'll do#
- Record daily deposits and cash transactions into the accounting system.
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc journal entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations, including investigating and resolving reconciling items.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing supporting schedules, reconciliations, and working papers.
- Compile financial reporting packages and assist in the preparation of financial statement files.
- Support ad-hoc accounting projects and perform administrative duties to assist the finance function.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university degree or college diploma program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate skills in Excel.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently or as part of a team, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- A proactive approach to seeking guidance and feedback.
