The BC College of Nurses and Midwives is seeking a Records Assistant Intern for a full-time, temporary position during the summer of 2026. This role is based on-site in Vancouver, BC, and focuses on the organization, maintenance, and disposition of physical records to support the organization's regulatory mandate. The internship is a four-month commitment with the possibility of extensions.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the intake, organization, labeling, tracking, and retention review of physical records.
- Support the review of on-site and off-site records to identify and prepare files for destruction according to approved schedules.
- Retrieve, examine, and document box-level and file-level information to maintain an accurate inventory.
- Ensure new physical records are labeled correctly and stored to support efficient retrieval.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning regarding Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racism.
What you'll need#
- Completion of relevant coursework in records management or a related field.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of physical records management principles is an asset.
- Co-op or previous work experience in administrative support is preferred.
- Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts is an asset.
- Majors in Business Administration, Communications, Public Health, Nursing, or Human Resources are relevant to this position.

- Modality: On-site (5 days a week).
- Term: Summer 2026 (July – October).
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
