    About the role#

    Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital is a 24/7 emergency practice in Virginia Beach that serves 90% companion animals and 10% exotics. As an extern, you will join a multi-doctor practice supported by a team of 19 veterinarians and 25 credentialed technicians across our emergency and general practice locations. We utilize in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound, with visiting specialists providing echocardiogram and advanced ultrasound services.

    What you'll do#

    • Participate in patient care and medical protocol standards.
    • Focus on maintaining exceptional client communication.
    • Engage in mentorship and collaboration with experienced veterinarians.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
    • A commitment to learning and professional collaboration.
    • Ability to thrive in a high-volume clinical environment.

    • Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Full-time.
    • Term: Rolling.
    • Compensation: This is a paid externship that includes a stipend to offset housing and travel costs.
