About the role#
Balfour Beatty US is seeking a motivated student for a full-time Project Engineer Internship during the Fall 2026 term. This role provides hands-on experience in construction management, focusing on project support, cost control, and quality assurance within the Dallas area.
What you'll do#
- Learn to manage project budgets by controlling expenditures and coordinating billing processes.
- Gain exposure to Safety and Quality Control programs and learn how to address site-related issues.
- Review and process submittal data and shop drawings while coordinating deliveries to maintain the project schedule.
- Monitor and review weekly and monthly status reports, meeting minutes, and change orders.
- Update as-built plans to reflect changes, clarifications, and directives from architects and owners.
- Maintain documentation logs for RFIs and change requests.
- Assist with meetings involving architects and owner representatives to understand progress reporting and project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration program.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent self-organizational and management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop new skills and technical knowledge quickly.
