Staff Accountant Co-op Student

About the role#

The Staff Accountant Co-op Student supports the delivery of client services by assisting with the production of high-quality deliverables. You will work under supervision to complete engagements, maintain documentation accuracy, and contribute to project teams. This role is designed to build experience in public accounting while supporting your postsecondary studies.

What you'll do#

• Complete audit, review, and compilation engagements both individually and as part of a team.
• Review client financial records for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare individual and corporate tax returns.
• Perform technical work in the office or in the field under supervision.
• Respond to client needs and address concerns proactively.
• Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and collaborate across firm teams.
• Identify inefficient processes and suggest improvements.

What you'll need#

• Currently undertaking a postsecondary program in accounting or a related field.
• A strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting.
• Ability to take initiative for your own learning and development.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• A problem-solving mindset.

Location & details#

• Location: Guelph, Ontario.
• Term: Fall 2026 (12 months starting September 8, 2026).
• Work Modality: 100% on-site.
• Schedule: Standard 37.5 hours per week, with 44-50 hours per week during busy season.
• Compensation: $23-$24 per hour.
