AS CAD Intern

About the role#

As an AS CAD Intern within the Design & Construction Services department, you will support a team of Project Managers, Designers, and CAD Technicians. This role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, ranging from initial design coordination and shop drawings to manufacturing and installation support. You will work in a combined office and manufacturing facility, gaining hands-on experience in an environment where design intent and manufacturing execution are closely linked.

What you'll do#

• Assist with various aspects of custom project design and delivery.
• Draft technical drawings and project details.
• Perform 3D modeling and parametric scripting.
• Create conceptual design diagrams and presentations.
• Manage project documentation, scheduling, and data.
• Participate in team meetings and coordinate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Architecture, Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling in Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D).
• Strong technical drawing and 3D modeling skills.
• Experience with architectural design, detailing, and construction details.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with an attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• A CV and portfolio of work are required for consideration.

• Location: Carson, California.
• Term: Summer 2026 (8 to 10 weeks).
• Modality: Full-time, on-site.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday.
• Compensation: $20.19 – $26.92 per hour.
