Part-Time CCHD Intern(NE)

About the role#

The Baltimore Committee of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is seeking a part-time intern to support its mission of addressing the root causes of poverty through the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. This role involves collaborating with the Baltimore Diocesan Director and the CCHD Committee to advance anti-poverty efforts throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

What you'll do#

• Assist in planning educational and outreach events for parishes to increase awareness of CCHD and Catholic Social Teaching.
• Strengthen connections between previously funded organizations and local parishes, with a focus on Western Maryland, youth engagement, and Latino communities.
• Support the annual CCHD collection by interviewing representatives of funded organizations and writing articles about their impact.
• Participate in presentations and events alongside CCHD Committee members.
• Develop and implement a project or initiative that advances the mission of CCHD and the work of justice.

What you'll need#

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to learn about Catholic Social Teaching.
• Ability to collaborate creatively and effectively with others.
• A demonstrated interest in understanding and addressing the root causes of poverty.
• Commitment to following guidelines established by national and local CCHD committees.
• Membership in the Roman Catholic faith.
• Preferred majors include Political Science, Sociology, Communications, Philosophy, Public Health, Human Resources, Psychology, or History.

• Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
• Modality: On-site at Catholic Charities of Baltimore.
• Term: Rolling.
• Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour.
• Note: This is a paid, part-time position that is not benefit-eligible. Occasional evening hours may be required for meetings and special events.
