The Electrical Engineer Intern will support the development of AC and DC power conversion hardware. This year-round, on-site role in San Diego involves working 20-28 hours per week during the school year, with the opportunity for full-time hours during academic breaks. You will work alongside senior engineers on new product development, including the next-generation Asterion DC platform and programmable AC/DC sources.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with senior engineers on the design and development of next-generation programmable AC/DC sources.
- Assist in product evaluation, validation testing, and transition planning for end-of-life product replacements.
- Support material selection and design enhancements to increase power capacity, performance, and system reliability.
- Perform evaluation, testing, documentation, and release activities for power modules.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including technicians, to support prototype builds and product validation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics design.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools, including simulation software, schematic capture, and database applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Desirable: Familiarity with PWB layout software and PC-based development tools or firmware (C, C++, Visual Basic).
Location & details#
- Location: San Diego, California (On-site).
- Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour.
- Commitment: Year-round position requiring 20-28 hours per week during the school year.
