About the role#
ABS interns are integrated into business operations to experience engineering review, technical problem solving, and research and development. Working with a designated advisor, you will develop skills related to core business functions while assisting with key deliverables. You will be assigned multiple projects across your department throughout the three-month summer term.
What you'll do#
- Participate in active, on-the-job training.
- Assist with detailed engineering review of plans to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and contract commitments.
- Communicate the status of your current workload to team members to ensure client needs are met.
- Propose technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
- Assist in the development of business performance metrics, including the implementation of monitoring programs and the analysis of operating results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or Environmental Engineering.
- Availability to work the full summer term from May through August.
- U.S. Citizen status.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- Basic engineering knowledge, with proficiency in Excel and AutoCad preferred.
- Familiarity with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
