About the role#
Ameresco is seeking a Project Engineering Intern to support the Office of Mental Health’s Energy Efficiency and Pollution Program. This role involves active participation in the design and construction phases of energy infrastructure projects. The position is based in Albany, New York, and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to manage site and building access for construction services.
- Communicate with customers and subcontractors to provide project status updates and address concerns.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure quality control, adherence to design documents, and delivery within budget and schedule.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily logs, schedule updates, and customer interface records.
- Review project expenditures to ensure invoices align with established budgets, contracts, and purchase orders.
- Analyze proposals and assist in the preparation of project presentations and technical reports.
- Attend weekly construction meetings at the job site.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, facility management, or energy management.
- Experience with large-scale construction projects, such as upgrades, renovations, or retrofits.
- Ability to gather, validate, and analyze quantitative data.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Project.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
