The International Student Ambassador represents international students within the Alma Mater Society. This role supports the Campus Affairs Commission in implementing programming and advocacy initiatives designed to improve support and community for undergraduate international students at Queen's University.
What you'll do#
- Host events and projects in collaboration with the International Affairs Manager to foster community building.
- Support campaigns focused on advocacy efforts regarding tuition, education, and student resources.
- Attend all required training sessions and participate in both in-person and virtual meetings.
- Maintain regular office hours and communicate effectively with the International Affairs Director.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while representing the organization and its mission.
What you'll need#
- Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and creativity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, management, and the broader university community.
- Pursuing studies in fields such as International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Sociology, or Psychology.
Location & details#
- Location: Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Commitment: 5-7 hours per week from September to April.
- Status: Paid, part-time position.
