Alberta University of the Arts is seeking a Financial Aid and Student Awards Advisor to manage initiatives that support student financial literacy and funding. This role coordinates university award and bursary programs, as well as government student financial aid, for both undergraduate and graduate students. You will work closely with the Registrar’s Office, Student Affairs, and faculty to promote funding opportunities and provide comprehensive financial guidance to the student body. This is a full-time, temporary position.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and administer the selection process for awards, scholarships, and bursaries in accordance with institutional policy.
- Develop and oversee a communication plan to effectively promote student awards programs to current and prospective students.
- Facilitate the delivery of government student aid programs and assist students with application completion.
- Provide general advising services regarding financial resources and support student financial literacy through workshops and resources.
- Liaise with Advancement and Finance departments to ensure accurate award payments and reporting.
- Coordinate faculty and staff participation in award adjudication panels.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Finance, Management, or Accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a post-secondary or student services environment, specifically within financial aid and awards.
- Demonstrated expertise in academic awards, financial aid, and financial administration.
- Strong experience in one-on-one student advising.
- Advanced technical proficiency in Office 365, SharePoint, and Excel.
