This is a full-time, 4-month internship for the Fall 2026 term, running from September 2026 through December 2026. The Economics & Investment Research team provides macroeconomic research, currency views, and scenario analysis to support client asset allocation and portfolio risk management. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to applied quantitative research and the development of internal investment tools.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research using macroeconomic and financial data analysis to support portfolio management and client advice.
- Assist with data gathering and statistical modeling for investment research projects.
- Collaborate with investment teams, including Multi-Asset Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and Client Investment Strategy.
- Prepare written materials and presentations to communicate research findings and provide transparency into the research function.
- Participate in building LLM-based prompting strategies, pipelines, and agentic workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in a quantitative field, such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, Data Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in R or Python programming.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of econometrics, statistics, machine learning, and optimization methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

- This position is based on-site in Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
