AECOM is seeking an Indigenous Engineering Intern to join the Saskatoon office as part of the Blooming Program, which supports the development of Indigenous youth in STEAM fields. This temporary, full-time position is expected to last four months with the possibility of extension. You will work under the supervision of an experienced engineer to gain practical industry experience in municipal infrastructure, project management, and field work.
What you'll do#
- Conduct engineering design and assist in data review under supervision.
- Prepare calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
- Collect and analyze data while using computer software to solve basic engineering problems.
- Assist with construction contract administration, including reviewing submittals and preparing change orders.
- Observe and record on-site work to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Learn to use survey equipment such as GPS and total stations for field assignments and inspections, with the potential for travel to remote areas of Northern Saskatchewan.
- Attend client meetings with the project manager to prepare notes and track action items.
- Assist in the preparation of safety plans and perform work according to established budgets and schedules.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant Civil Engineering program.
- Completion of at least two years of study in your program.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license.
Location & details#
- Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $24 to $28 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
- Status: This is a paid, full-time internship.
