Legal Extern (Fall 2026)

About the role#

Accordion is seeking law students for a Fall 2026 legal externship based in Los Angeles. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in the legal function of a consulting firm focused on private equity and mergers and acquisitions. This position is unpaid, though students may receive academic credit through their university programs. This is a hybrid role requiring local presence in Los Angeles.

What you'll do#

Under the direction of the General Counsel, you will support the legal team with a variety of operational and research-based tasks, including:

• Assisting with contract review and management.
• Conducting legal research and compiling findings.
• Drafting legal memoranda and various documents.
• Completing document reviews and providing summaries.
• Managing data within legal intake applications.
• Configuring legal AI technologies.
• Supporting compliance policy and process development.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment at an accredited law school.
• Interest in finance, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, in-house legal practice, technology, and artificial intelligence.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general AI tools.
• Strong writing, drafting, research, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and exceptional time management abilities.
• A commitment to professional growth and learning.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of communications and information.
