The Interface and Integration Internship offers hands-on experience with system integration and automation design within a global port environment. You will work alongside engineers and project teams to support the testing, documentation, and improvement of automated terminal systems, gaining exposure to real-world engineering and operational challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist in testing and validation of automated terminal systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and related equipment, while supporting the analysis of system performance.
- Help gather and document technical interface specifications for equipment, software, and infrastructure.
- Contribute to vendor coordination activities during design reviews, testing, installation, and commissioning.
- Support the configuration and updating of systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with terminal stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and efficiency.
- Participate in safety walk-throughs and assist in maintaining documentation to support the integration of vendor solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Control/Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Basic understanding of automation systems such as PLCs, SCADA, and HMI.
- Interest in programming or scripting languages, specifically Python, C#, or SQL.
- Exposure to networking or industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, TCP/IP, Profibus) is considered a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

- Modality: 100% on-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid, part-time internship.
