OpenAI Says It Has Begun Training a New Flagship A.I. Model
OpenAI is taking a bold step with a new A.I. model that promises to surpass GPT-4. As they push the boundaries of artificial intelligence, a newly formed Safety and Security Committee will ensure these advancements are responsibly managed. Despite recent controversies and leadership changes, OpenAI remains committed to developing technology that could revolutionize how we interact with A.I. and address its potential risks.

This San Francisco-based start-up, known as a leading A.I. company globally, aims to bring "the next level of capabilities" with this new model. OpenAI's vision includes building artificial general intelligence (AGI), a machine that can perform any intellectual task a human can do. The new model is expected to power a wide range of A.I. products, including chatbots, digital assistants similar to Apple's Siri, search engines, and image generators.
What is AGI? Here’s a helpful article here.
To manage the potential risks associated with this advanced technology, OpenAI has established a new Safety and Security Committee. This committee will focus on exploring and mitigating the risks posed by the new model and future technologies. "While we are proud to build and release models that are industry-leading on both capabilities and safety, we welcome a robust debate at this important moment," the company stated.
